2. Purchase and Product Description
2.1 When you place an order with us, you are making an offer to buy goods. We will send you an e-mail to confirm that we have received your order.
2.2 Once we have reviewed your order we will make contact with you to confirm that we accept your order and payment has been made. Until then no contract has been made between you and us.
2.3 In the unlikely event that the goods are no longer available, or that we have made a pricing mistake, or where we cannot obtain authorisation for your payment, we will advise you of this accordingly and there will be no contract between us.
2.4 Images of products on this website are for illustrative purposes only. Your goods may vary slightly from the image shown on the website and will not include any of the pictured accessories, unless stated in the specification of the goods. Whilst goods may be shown assembled they may require assembly by you.
2.5 We have made every effort to display as accurately as possible the colours of our products that appear on this website. However, we cannot guarantee that your monitor’s colour will accurately reflect the colour of the actual goods.
2.6 It is the customers responsibility to check the dimensions of all furniture, cushions, parasols and storage covers prior to ordering. Our standard returns policy applies if the incorrect item is ordered. Whilst we try to be as accurate as possible, all information provided is approximate and is provided in good faith. If in doubt please contact customer services prior to order.
2.7 This contract is covered by English law.
3. How to place an order
3.1 You can use our website to place an order by selecting the product you wish to buy and adding it to your basket. Items you do not require can be removed from your basket at any time. If you prefer to order by telephone you can do so by calling 01305 848391.
3.2 Any carriage charges will be shown prior to you placing your order.
3.3 You will be required to pay for the goods in full prior to delivery.
3.4 We use secure payment facilities for online purchases. You can pay for your order by Visa, Mastercard, American Express & Paypal.
3.5 Promotional prices only apply during the period stated.
3.6 All prices quoted on our website are in UK pounds and include Value Added Tax at the current rate.
3.7 Once your order has been confirmed, changes may not be possible or may incur additional charges or delays.
3.8 Once your order is complete we will notify you of the dispatch date.
4. Delivery & Carriage Charges
4.1 Goods in stock will normally be dispatched from our own warehouse in 1-2 working days, or direct from manufacturer within 7-14 days. Lead times may vary and any estimated date is an estimate, which can change without notice. Although we endeavour to supply most items within 5-10 days, if new products have to be shipped in from abroad this could take considerably longer and can sometimes take 6 - 8 weeks. This also applies to bespoke orders items such as special order cushions and furniture which requires a paint service.
4.2 We will normally deliver goods within 1-2 working days of dispatch.
4.3 Your order may arrive in more than one delivery
4.4 Standard UK delivery is FREE on all orders over £499 with the exception of Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, Channel Islands and remote areas such as the Highlands/Islands of Scotland to which we do not offer any type of delivery service.
4.4.1 For all Gloster purchases under £2,500 we reserve the right to charge an additional £250 delivery charge. Orders over £2,500 will be delivered free of charge.
4.5 We will deliver the goods to the premises you specify on your order. You must be at home to accept delivery of your order, which is normally between 9:00am and 6:00pm Monday-Friday.
We will not accept responsibility for loss or damage if you instruct the delivery company to leave the goods unattended.
4.6 Most of our products are relatively weighty items and you may be required to assist the driver in offloading your order. Palletised deliveries will be drop off only and the delivery drivers are not expected to unpack or set up your furniture. 4.7 Disposal of packing materials is your responsibility.
4.8 Delivery will be deemed as successfully made once the product has arrived at the address specified. Signatures will be required as proof of delivery. If you are not at home for a scheduled agreed delivery the goods may be returned to the warehouse and we reserve the right to charge you an additional re-delivery charge.
4.9 If you change the delivery address once the goods have been dispatched to you, we reserve the right to pass on any extra charges made by our carriers for redirecting your delivery.
4.10 Please check the goods on delivery - any goods found to be missing or damaged should be notified to the delivery driver and signed for at the time of delivery and an email notifying ourselves within 24 hours.
4.11 If the goods are lost or damaged in transit, please let us know promptly.
4.12 Deliveries can only be made to a property where there is reasonable access for the safe and prompt delivery of the goods. You should tell us about any special delivery requirements such as small minor roads or poor access when you place your order. We reserve the right to pass on any extra charges made by our carriers for your delivery.
4.13 Your order may require some assembly. All furniture supplied is relatively easy to assemble and will come with the necessary instructions.
4.14 Sometimes, for reasons beyond our control we may be prevented from delivering your goods as planned. These might include things such as accidents, breakdowns, fire, flood, storm, severe weather, acts of god, war, riot, civil commotion, malicious damage or the default of our suppliers. We will try to put things right as soon as possible however we can’t be responsible where this causes a delay or failure in delivering your goods.
4.15 Customers are welcome to collect orders from our Showroom at Tincleton near Dorchester DT2 8QR. To ensure your items are available please contact us prior to arrival.
4.16 We reserve the right to charge extra for large, heavy or fragile items that are not economically viable to send via courier. For example individual tables, parasol bases over 25kg, glass items and parasols. In some instances we may have to decline the order.
4.17 If delivery is refused when attempted on the arranged date at the requested address, we reserve the right to charge our full delivery cost and any associated re-delivery costs.
Due to recent circumstances relating to Coronavirus some deliveries may take longer than anticipated. We have been advised by some of our suppliers that there may be additional delays in freight and logistics. We will do our utmost to deliver in the usual time period and will advise of any foreseeable delays, however, there may be extensions to lead times without notice. We hope our customers will understand these issues throughout this difficult period.

5.1 We are confident you will be delighted with your purchase, but if you wish to cancel your order or return your goods please alert us as soon as possible. In line with distance selling regulations, you can cancel your contract at any time up to 7 working days after the day of delivery. To exercise your right of cancellation, you must give written notice to The Garden Furniture and Interiors Co by letter or email, giving details of the items ordered and (where appropriate) their delivery. Notification by phone is not sufficient.
5.2 Return goods can only be accepted provided they are un-opened, unused and still in their original packaging. We do not accept returns of partially assembled or assembled flat packed furniture.
5.3 You do not have to give any reason for cancellation. However, a brief explanation will help us to improve the service we offer to customers in the future. Please note we cannot offer refunds on any special order or clearance items, including cushion colour options and non standard paint colour options. If the goods are faulty we must be notified at time of delivery.
5.4 If you cancel, you must return the goods within 14 days of cancellation, complete with the original packaging to us at Tincleton Lifestyle Centre, Clyffe Farm, Tincleton, Dorchester, Dorset, DT2 8QR (or any other UK address specified by us), at your own expense. You must ensure that the goods are packaged adequately to protect against damage. We recommend that you use a recorded or secure delivery method. If goods are lost or damaged in transit, we may charge you, or not refund you, amounts that are attributable to the loss of damage.
5.5 We will refund all monies paid to us by you excluding any postage / carriage within 30 days, less a restocking fee of 10% of the total price of the goods.
5.6 Business customers, or customers exempt from the distance selling regulations may not cancel an order without our mutual agreement.
5.7 This cancellation policy does not affect your legal rights - for example, if goods are faulty or misdescribed.
6. Faulty Goods / Guarantee
6.1 If the goods arrive faulty or damaged we must be made aware within 7 days of delivery. Please email a digital photograph of the damage together with a brief explanation to email@example.com. Please note small defects such as colour variations in teak and minor splits are normal characteristics in wooden furniture and are therefore deemed acceptable. We will deal with the matter in accordance with your legal rights.
6.2 All goods are covered by a manufacturer’s warranty against faulty workmanship and materials, subject to the terms and conditions of that warranty.
6.3 The manufacturer’s warranty is provided in addition to the rights that the law says you have as a consumer and accordingly, your statutory rights are not affected.
6.4 If an exchange is necessary, this will be arranged without unreasonable delay and without charge. Replacement goods will not be dispatched until the original goods have been received at our warehouse and checked.
The cost of returning goods to us is your responsibility, however on inspection we will refund your reasonable postage costs, providing that the goods are found to be faulty. If the goods are not faulty, we will return them to you, however you will be required to cover our reasonable postage costs.
7.1 The products sold on this website have been designed to comply with all relevant UK legislation. We cannot warrant or represent that they comply with any legal requirement outside the UK.
7.2 We do not accept liability for any consequential loss of profit or indirect losses. For instance you should therefore not book installation of the goods until you have received them and inspected them.
8. Trade or Business Customers
The following conditions apply to orders placed by Trade or Business Customers.
8.1 Orders may not be cancelled except with our mutual agreement and having been confirmed in writing by a manager our company. We reserve the right to make cancellation and/or re-stocking charges.
8.2 Claims for missing or damaged items must be made within 2 days of delivery.

This price match is based on collection only ie for goods collected from Tincleton Lifestyle Centre DT2 8QR. We do not match ‘delivered’ prices as charges vary considerably depending on distance, location and service provided.
